Scrappy bibs

My Mom, Dad and Aunt Sandy came to visit the boys yesterday. It was great for me, because my husband had to work and I always love having extra company when he's not around. Especially the family-type of company because I can use their visit to my advantage without feeling too guilty about it. Evil, aren't I? So while they cooed at my baby and played hockey with my 2-year-old, I sewed!

I think I've mentioned before I love fast projects. So bibs are right up my alley. I saw a tutorial for a scrappy bib on the blog Zaaberry and went at it. I didn't follow step-by-step instructions. More just took her cute bibs as my inspiration and ran with it.

Here's my result!

Made the owl one first and wanted more balance between the two fabrics, so adjusted for the second one. I used a favorite bib -- a big one -- as a pattern. So they turned out more Luke-sized than J.J.-sized. They might go into the rotation right away, although I had Jack in mind when I made them.

What do you think?

P.S. -- Zaaberry has a cute Etsy shop, too.

  2. Thanks! I believe it is Alexander Henry fabric called Spotted Oil. I bought it about a year ago.

  3. These are so cute. Love the fabric selection and the way you changed things up a little by adding a little more balance between the fabrics. You've inspired me!
